Pacific Northwest Seascapes and Wildlife form August 9 to August 15, 2018

British Columbia is a province located on the very west coast of Canada. It is where glaciated mountains stand over the unruly Pacific Ocean. Where Rain forests wrap around cities. Nature shapes and defines culture, and the unbridled wild stretches beyond your wildest imagination.

On our workshop in August of 2018 is where we will step into the land of the “Group of Seven” painters and capture the essence of the Pacific Northwest. This area has inspired renowned artists and artisans for centuries, artists and artisans who honor the magic of this land who have brought it into the physical realm.

Add together this history, the magic that this land will intoxicate your minds with, and the perfect climate, its sure to prove to you, as it always does with me, why British Columbia has summoned outdoor enthusiasts and photographers from all corners of the Earth.

It is a photographers playground, and I enjoy taking groups on workshops for landscapes, seascapes and some of Canada's most desirable wildlife that photographers want in their portfolio.

Antarctic Photo Expedition

Join a group of us on one of the best ships that ply the Antarctic waters, the 78-passenger ice-strengthened Ushuaia. We've assembled an amazing team of pro photographers, expedition leaders and naturalists to provide photography instruction, information, and guidance throughout the expedition.

We own the boat, so this expedition will be set up to maximize photographic opportunities with as many shore landings as possible.

On this 10-day all-inclusive photographic workshop you'll have opportunities to photograph the beautiful and diverse wildlife and incredible polar landscapes of the Southern Ocean and the Antarctic Peninsula. We've timed our expedition at the end of Antarctic spring and the very beginning of summer, when there's still a chance for fresh snows and the wildlife is beginning to be most active.

Because of the smaller size of our ship and of our group, we have access to all approved landing spots in the South Shetland Islands and Antarctica—we can go places where the large cruise ships can't go. Not only that, our smaller group size allows us more time at each landing for photography—something that is severely compromised when you are on a ship that has more than 100 passengers.

You can expect to see and photograph: whales (orca, minke, and humpback), crabeater, elephant, leopard and Weddell seals, countless numbers of penguins, and many, many albatrosses, petrels, and other sea birds.

Everything is all-inclusive from the time we meet you in Ushuaia, Argentina on December 2, 2018 until the time we say goodbye on December 13, 2018. There will be plenty of on-board instruction on wildlife photography, beginning and advanced Lightroom, photographic composition, technical refreshers, naturalist lectures and more. There will always be something going on when we're not photographing, dining, or sleeping!

On board the Ushuaia, there's plenty of space in the common areas to relax, read a book, or talk photography. We have a huge room available for our classroom instruction, lectures, presentations, image reviews, and critiques. Meals on board are quite good: continental and full breakfast buffet, buffet or seated and served lunch, afternoon tea and three-course dinner. Mealtimes are set by us, and are based on our shore excursions—photography first!

Unlike most Antarctica trips, which are on tourist cruise ships with 150, 200, or 250+ passengers and are not dedicated fully to photography, we can get closer to land, and our Zodiacs will zip you to shore safely and fast, so you can have the most time available for photography. With Me and Muench Workshops, you will be with like-minded photographers and travelers who are interested in maximizing every opportunity to capture amazing wildlife and landscape images, and to learn as much as possible from the pros and experts on the team. Don't worry, your non-photographer spouse/partner/traveling companion will enjoy this expedition just as much as everyone else, and they too will enjoy the landscape and wildlife and the guiding from not only us but the expedition staff and naturalists.

One of the most asked questions about my African Photo Safari

One question that I often get from clients booking their African safari with the Photographer’s Lounge is what is the food going to be like on Safari?

Lunch is served on the floor of Ngorongoro Crater

The food is fresh and tasty. Our chefs will cook you some amazing meals with basic equipment. think hot and fresh breads + beef and veggie mishkaki [barbeque] using a coal grill + organic salad plucked from the garden right around the corner.

All food is well prepared. Our well trained camp chef and crew will come up with gourmet meals in the middle of the bush. They really want you to enjoy their culinary experience.

We can also easily accommodate any vegetarian requirements and any Halal requests.

On Safari you normally start off your day with a wake-up call. You can start really early should you have chosen to go on a sunrise morning game drive or morning walking Safari like you can do most days. On these days, our breakfasts are prepared and stored in a lunch box so we can eat at our leisure from a location out in the conservation areas… we eat amongst the roaming herds of animals and enjoy the sights with our fresh brewed coffee, tea and food.

If you choose to stay back in the morning, You will sit on your lovely patio and have your cookie or biscuits as we say and sip your hot cuppa tea or coffee listening to the sounds of the wild and watching the sun rise. A perfect morning on Safari!

A good breakfast to start off the day full of adventures. You are going to have an array of options. Cereals, variety of juices, eggs with warm bread sometimes cooked in the bush for a bush breakfast, bacon and potatoes and more.  Nothing like having the most important meal of the day with a great view in the Serengeti.

Game driving is tough! Our vehicles carry water, soft drinks, juice and snacks which you can enjoy during your game drive. In some areas, we can stop, set a table and enjoy your snack with the animals close by. Don’t worry. Our guides will choose an open area away from the thick bushes. Prepare to enjoy your mid-morning or afternoon snack.

For lunch, again we have our lunches premade if we are out on safari… The food is fresh, kept in a refrigerator in the vehicle and we place out a picnic table to serve you your lunches from different areas while we are out on safari.

Dinner time is always the best time. Together we sit back, discuss the events of the day over a chilled glass of wine or the drink of choice. We will sit chatting with other Safari goers or share a meal with the camp manager and share stories that go beyond the parks you are visiting.  Bush dinners are also available for those who want a private dinner or just want to sit under the stars. Grizzly Bear and Aurora Adventure in the Yukon

Join Juan Pons and Kevin Allen Pepper on this ultimate ten day, nine night nature adventure that is perfect for any wildlife and nature enthusiast! Our destination is a remote bear camp which is only accessible by helicopter, deep inside the British Columbia wilderness—followed by another remote lodge in the mountains of the Yukon Territory—for what we hope is stunning aurora photography and autumn color in the Yukon Wilderness.

A total of eight of us have been granted exclusive use of our bear camp where you will photograph amazing bear activity that includes fishing on the spawning salmon, bears swimming in the pools and playing along the banks.
